Simone Hendriksen
Dog trainer, sitting and walking service
Hi, I'm Simone! I'm 25 years old now and I live in Delft (and soon Gouda!).
Animal love
As a little girl, I grew up in the Achterhoek region, always surrounded by animals. Cats, dogs, or goats? I love them all! While my older sisters played together, I preferred to snuggle in the basket with our Rottweiler, Senna.
I started my dog walking service in 2019. At the time, I was living in Arnhem for my studies and volunteering at the Arnhem and Surrounding Area Animal Shelter. My love for animals grew into a side hustle there, and now it's my part-time job!
Breed and behavioral problems
You simply encounter certain breeds at shelters. Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bulls (collectively, Pit Bulls), and Shepherds in abundance. Or rather, the so-called " HR dogs ." Through my volunteer work, I've become more aware of the stigma surrounding these dogs. Where I was happily cuddling with them in the kennel just half an hour ago, I saw people walking past them as if they weren't even there. Simply because they look a certain way. It was precisely for these breeds that I started my dog walking service! Breed, behavior, age—it makes no difference to me.
Behavioral problems don't discourage me either. In 2023, I earned my Dog Trainer certification! With the right training, love, and attention, even anxious or aggressive dogs can enjoy relaxed walks. I can also help you learn how to walk more relaxed yourself through the walking training I offer.
Hopefully, this gives you a better idea of who I am. Of course, we can get to know each other better during an introductory meeting. See you soon! :)
