Of course, summer also brings high temperatures. Unfortunately, this entails risks for dogs. Dogs have no sweat glands and can only cool down by panting and through the soles of their feet. There is a risk of overheating from 21 degrees!
That is why I will take the following measures in the summer:
- The well-being of the dog is our number one priority! If I notice signs of heat stress or if it seems better to shorten the walk, I will do so. The remaining time I will stay at home with the dog and ensure that he/she can cool down again.
- I am extra alert to hot asphalt/hot stones.
- I also keep an eye out for dangerous plants and insects (be sure to read my blog post about this!)
- Busy playing/frolicking/running takes a back seat for a while.
I expect your understanding for this and of course hope that you will apply these tips yourself. Let's ensure that your dog has a safe, but above all fun summer!

Hi! My name is Simone and I work as a dog trainer, and dog walking and sitting service in Delft.
Every dog has an activity that they really enjoy or are good at. When you know how to use this to your advantage, you can prevent and even cure problem behavior. Power Paws offers a variety of services to help owners and dogs with this. My mission is to help dog owners understand their dogs, so they can live a balanced and happy life!
Whether it's training, holiday dog sitting or dog walking, I'm happy to help you and your dog with whatever you need. It's never too late to teach a dog (and its owner) new behavior. My customized services are designed with you and your pet in mind to ensure results. I believe it's just as important to work with you as I do with your pet!
Every breed is welcome
During my work as a volunteer at the shelter in Arnhem, I developed a great love for animals that are forgotten, seen as less, or are discriminated against because they look a certain way. Dogs such as Rottweilers, Staffords, and Pitbulls were often left behind in a kennel for months and sometimes years, despite their sweet nature. After my shift, I always took the time to give these sweethearts some extra attention, and they eventually became the driving force behind my dog walking service.
That is why I go a step further than the regular walking service. In addition to the fact that walks can be booked quickly and easily online, I also accept the so-called " high-risk dogs " and dogs with behavioral problems. The dogs that are often not welcome at another walking service in advance. Every dog is different and has its own character, so I do not discriminate on breed and believe in the individual!

Simone is great! I totally recommend her. She has supported us with our dog since Bonnie was a puppy. Simone really cares for dogs and knows how to handle difficult situations. It's incredibly helpful to know Bonnie is in good and competent hands and I never have to worry when Simone is with her.
Simone komt regelmatig onze hond uitlaten. De hond is heerlijk voldaan na de wandeling. Naast de fijne omgang met de hond is Simone ook erg flexibel. Het online boekingssysteem werkt ook erg prettig. Zijn erg blij met Simone!
Simone heeft onze 10 maanden oude golden retriever inmiddels een aantal keer uitgelaten. We zijn heel tevreden. Simone is betrouwbaar, kundig en denkt met ons mee over hoe om te gaan met bepaald pubergedrag.
Heel fijn dat je zo flexibel bent in een ander ophaal en terugbrengen adres.

Nog altijd zeer tevreden met Simone die van tijd tot tijd onze honden Hera en Greetje uitlaat. Beide honden zijn dol op haar en zo laat je ze ook met een gerust hart thuis als het even niet anders kan.
Simone zo dankbaar, als vrouw alleen met hond is het soms erg lastig. Soms boek ik Simone in als ik zelf even ademruimte wil hebben of écht handen tekort kom. Pepsi is altijd blij Simone te zien en komt altijd tevreden terug. Heerlijk rustig wanneer ik thuis kom van werk en even geen energie heb. Ze let goed op de hond voor zich en behandel ze niet allemaal hetzelfde. Ze let op lichaamstaal en signalen en reageert er goed op. Is altijd bereid rekening te houden met mogelijke tijdelijke beperkingen/wondjes bij de hond en communiceert goed. En niet te vergeten, alle rassen welkom! 1 op 1 wandelingen, iets wat niet veel HUS aanbieden. Echt perfect voor ons.

Onze honden zijn dol op haar, ze wandelt en knuffelt veel, stuurt vaak een berichtje met update en foto en is flexibel (toen onze vlucht vertraagd was bijvoorbeeld). Ook ons huis is altijd keurig bij terugkomst. Wij zijn heel blij met haar als oppas en kunnen haar alleen maar van harte aanbevelen!

Simone has already looked after our two dogs for 3 holidays and has stayed in our house. She is calm, patient and knows how to handle animals.
